New Conservation Easement is Largest Ever on Whitefish Lake
According to a recent story in the Flathead Lake Beacon, the sixth generation of the Collins family entered into the voluntary
conservation easement with the Montana Land Reliance "as a means to protect both the property’s natural values — it provides key fish and wildlife habitat and serves as a popular migratory corridor to a variety of critters — and its scenic values, preserving a view shed that is highly visible from Whitefish Lake and the surrounding mountains, including Big Mountain."

"The Tale of Two Winters"
The world certainly is different from one year ago and the real estate market is no exception! Of note is that while we usually see a lull in activity over the Halloween through Christmas seasons it did not happen in 2020. There was an increase in closings in January which means that with the typical 30-60 day closing timeframe, the holiday season didn't deter or soften buyers writing offers
or for sellers to opt to close and move in the middle of winter.
Looking forward, we expect that the steep decline in "Inventory of Homes For Sale" means that we could see those closed sales numbers declining unless homeowners are further incentivized to sell by the higher sales prices. If you are a homeowner, could now be your time to sell? We have ready and able buyers looking now.
