With St. Patrick’s Day smack dab in the middle of the month, it’s no wonder the chat about beer is on tap throughout Big Sky Country.

Call it the luck of the Irish or just the love of the brews, finding a locally-brewed cold one is never far from home. The Montana Brewers Association offers a Brew Card to challenge eager beer lovers to cross our great state to sample their 57 member breweries .... and Montana towns and cities roll out foamy brews at home-town beer festivals. Mortgage Rate update

Per this week's article in REALTOR Magazine by Melissa Dittmann Tracey titled "Why Are Mortgage Rates Edging Closer to 7% Again?", rates climbed again this week even while experts predict that rates will trend downward overall in 2023. The Federal Reserve will meet again later this month as they consider a "more aggressive stance on monetary policy," says Sam Khater, Freddie Mac's chief economist. He continues, "would-be home buyers continue to face the compounding challenges of affordability and low inventory." Freddie Mac reports the following national averages in mortgage rates for the week ending March 9:

30-year fixed-rate mortgages: averaged 6.73%, rising from last week’s 6.65% average. A year ago, 30-year rates averaged 3.85%.
15-year fixed-rate mortgages: averaged 5.95%, also rising compared to last week’s 5.89% average. A year ago, 15-year rates averaged 3.09%.
