Pending sales in June are a good indicator of how the first half of the year is coming along. Buyers that want to use their waterfront properties this
summer have written contracts in the Spring and planned ahead to close before the end of summer and get some time in at their new lake place. Those wanting to make a move either for jobs or the school year did the same and are making the transition when the warmer temperatures are conducive to a move.
The chart above shows the last six years of June "pending sales" numbers. June 2020 was certainly the outlier and then softening a bit more in 2021. This year is more in line with 2017, 2018 and 2019 numbers which we've expected with low inventory and the rising interest rates.
